The Metropolitan Hospitality Group was formed in 2005 to enter the Specialty Coffee Business and in late 2006, we adjusted our strategic vision and decided to enter the bar/restaurant market as well. We created the CIRCA bistro concept and opened our first location in the North Dupont Circle section of Washington, D.C. in April of 2007. In January 2011, we expanded the CIRCA brand to Clarendon, Virginia and in July 2011, we opened our third CIRCA location in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of Washington, D.C.
With CIRCA, we tried to create the type of place we love to frequent - energized urban locations with great patios, American fare, a vibrant community bar scene with Happy Hour, 20+ wines by the glass, a custom beer list, and original cocktails for every season. We wanted to ensure outstanding service at every location, with a team that is the best in the business.
We expanded into the growing community of Merrifield, Virginia in 2013, with the creation of our newest concepts: Open Road Grill & Icehouse and Trio Grill. We wanted a bar that combines a quintessential blend of country hospitality and urban rock n' roll. Open Road Grill & Ice House was born to be just that; a place where the entire community can find something in common and where you can come just as you are. With 50 beers, live music, and comforting food, you can relax at Open Road any day of the week.
TRIO Grill was opened as a reinterpretation of a classic American chophouse. The menu serves the finest quality USDA Prime cuts and an assortment of the freshest seasonally-selected seafood. The wood-fired grills, ice cold raw bar, and hand-made pasta favorites will further delight the most discerning palates. The bar experience includes the soft sounds of a Baby Grand and the ever creative concoctions of our master mixologist. Our entire team is committed to creating an atmosphere of care, familiarity and true hospitality at every turn.
